Self Sabotage
Self Sabotage

This session of ‘Ask Dani’ is in response to a question I received on YouTube from ButterPecanRican.  After gaining back 80+ pounds that she worked hard to lose, ButterPecanRican is trying to understand why she self-sabotaged her efforts.

Personally, I think self-sabotage is a tricky term.  It implies that we purposely choose to work again our own best efforts but I don’t really agree with that.

I believe every action we take, whether we like it or not, is an attempt to meet some type of personal need.  Sometimes, we are unaware of the need we are trying to meet, so in the process, it can look like we are working against another personal desire.  But I can assure you that every action we take in our life is for good reason, and leaning to approach ourselves with curiosity, is how we begin to learn why we often do the things we do.

We truly are fascinating beings (in the most awesome way!).

In the video below, I share some ‘food for thought’ on the topic of self sabotage.  It’s a big topic, so really I am just scratching the surface, but I would love to hear your thoughts, opinions, and ideas about it down in the comments below.  xo
